The number in the New York catalogue is followed by the numbers in the Chicago and Boston catalogues, where applicable. Sale prices are the same as the artist’s price listed, unless otherwise noted. An asterisk (*) indicates that the work was not invited by the organizers, but was submitted for consideration by the Domestic Committee and accepted. The same is true of the Boston catalogue except that only three of the paintings were shown. The original catalogue listing, “Lent by M. Lemaitre,” is incorrect. The address “7 Rue Lemaître à Puteaux,” was written on the line for the lender, and was misread as “M. Lemaitre à Puteaux.” The sales records for the four Puteaux studies are not completely consistent, but the buyer cited is most likely.
