Gallery M held strong representations of Association of American Painters and Sculptors members, including iconic paintings by urban realist John Sloan, several works from American impressionist Karl Anderson, E.A. Kramer, known for tranquil, atmospheric landscapes, and Henry Fitch Taylor, who would be inspired by the Armory Show to experiment with the new styles. It also included works by conservative non-members such as Ruger Donoho, and a modest painting of a sailboat by a young Edward Hopper. The gallery might have seemed tame in contrast to the cubist and fauvist works in the later galleries, but it demonstrated the broad diversity of American art represented in the Armory.
